Welcome to the Big Strong Lasses

Not-for-profit Community Interest Group, for all women diagnosed with breast cancer

 We are a community of women with breast cancer who weight train together on zoom. 

Our strength training classes are lovely - very friendly, supportive and suitable for anyone. 

There's a lot of shared wisdom while we train, as we've all been in the same boat.

Zoom-based, weight training courses, in a group

Join a group class. Our zoom-based courses begin each January, April and September with groups for beginners and for those who have gone through the first course and are ready to get even stronger. The workouts are designed to be safe for all, including those with stage 4 and with lymphoedema.

Self-directed course - do it individually at your own pace

If you'd rather do things in your own time, sign up for our self-guided course and follow a 12 week (or as long as you want to take) progressive weight training programme. There's no cut-off period - it's yours to keep.

The beginner’s weights courses are live zoom based courses, on Mondays ( 18:30) and Fridays (12:00), on camera and with lots of chat.


Courses are 10 classes each lasting up to an hour, spread over 12 weeks, avoiding school holidays. Each class is recorded and an edited version sent to everyone, so they can repeat the workout once or twice before the next session.

A complete, 12 week online strength training course comprising six progressive workout videos and filmed coaching around warming up, stretching and detailed advice about posture and technique.


This course is yours to keep and to repeat and build on and is designed to be safe for those on treatment as well as afterwards.

A monthly membership scheme for those across our community who aren’t currently doing the zoom classes but who would like to still be weight training as part of the family. 


You'll receive a monthly emailed newsletter with a filmed weight training routine to follow, a shared theme or challenge for us as a community, a chat-based forum, and news, tips or experiences from other Big Strong Lasses. 


Membership is by small monthly donation - up to you how much. The income generated by the subscriptions is used to offer this and other things at little or no cost to those for whom that’d be helpful.
